Not much to report but here’s a quick post…

Well hello there! 🙂

We’ve now reached the end of February – That went quick didn’t it?! I have finally stopped mistakenly writing “2013” on the whiteboard at school and frantically changing the 3 to a 4 before one of the kids notices. I think that officially means we are well and truly into 2014!

Since I last wrote nothing too note-worthy has happened, I’ve just been getting back into the swing of things at school after half term and re-acquainting myself with my 6am alarm. Normally a 6am alarm would make me the grumpiest person ever… in the past not even the smell of bacon being wafted towards my bedroom could tempt me away from my cosy sanctuary before mid-morning without being a massive grump (ask my mum, she has tried!) I think it helps knowing that I’m getting up to do something I really enjoy every day.

I’ve recently gotten back in to reading which i’m really happy about – I’ve finished “Girl, Missing” which was really gripping despite the fact it was clearly targeted at 15 year olds (I got it from the school library!) I’ve started reading the sequel to Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones and I have “Cloud Atlas” waiting for me after that. I’d really like to get back into the ASOIAF series by George R.R. Martin at some point also as I stopped reading midway through “A Clash of Kings” due to uni commitments last year. So I’m also going to see if I can get hold of a copy of that! Getting lost in a really good novel is something I have really missed. Any suggestions for good reads are welcome! I’ve been told I need to read “The Book Thief” – I’ve gone from reading nothing to wanting to read everything all at once – must slow down! haha.
The other most recent development has been my decision to enter myself for a 10k race in July for Cancer Research. There are personal reasons behind this which I’ll go into at a later date (i’ll blog with a link to a fundraising page nearer the time) but yeah, I need to get myself from couch potato to decent runner in just over 4 months – I’m sure that’s do-able! I’ve started slow by beginning to walk home from work a few days a week rather than taking a taxi. It’s a nice 40min scenic route around the lake by school so It’s quite pleasant. Especially with headhphones in. It’s about time I started to exercise more really and hopefully I might also be able to get into better shape ready for that Easter beach holiday which is creeping up scarily fast!
That’s all this time I’m afraid. I will endeavor to have some more adventures and do more interesting things between now and the next time I write so that it’s a little more thrilling to read!!Ciao,
